KanaChild - The Creature of Desire
KanaChilds are known for their distinct behaviour. They are the result of extreme material greed and acquisitiveness, manifesting when a human's desire for possession overwhelms their humanity.
They maintain an unsettlingly childlike appearance. They have the body of a normal 14-year-old child, but their head is squeezed horizontally until it is as long as their body. They have no eyes, nose, or facial parts other than a wide, ever-closed mouth, only parting when they spot a desired victim.
KanaChild often appears in places where normal children like to hang around, like shopping malls, parks, playgrounds, et cetera. They like to mimic the children’s behaviour, and these creatures surely believe that they are one of the real kids too. The way they operate is that they will wait until a desired adult passes by, the monster then shakes its head slightly while facing the adult, signalling for the adult to pick them up, just like the way a parent would pick up their own child. Their mission is to join a normal human family and build their role as a child in that family. If a KanaChild shows signs of wanting you to pick it up, then it is already too late. You must adopt the monster, treat it as your offspring, and raise it in the same way you would treat your real blood-related child. Don’t even think about ignoring the creature when it has already chosen you; they are very good at telling whether you are pretending or not. They can easily tell when you’re faking. Once it realised you were deliberately avoiding it, its head would begin to shake violently, triggering an unexplained process that interferes with your thoughts and slowly strips away your ability to think for yourself. Which, after a few minutes, results in you also shaking your head violently, shaking faster and faster every second passed, no matter how hurt or numb your neck is, your neck would not stop shaking. This process will continue until your head snaps, a slow, gradual death. Attempting to eliminate the creature to stop the shaking effects is not recommended, since it would only make your head shake even harder. They can speed up the process and force your neck to break if they have to. Once you are cursed with these creatures’ effect, there’s no cure. The one thing you can do is put your head into a hard, tight space to keep it stable and minimise any shaking effect, and wait for the IEBCRO team to arrive at your location.
In the situation where you have picked up and adopted the monster, then you should get through the fact that your family is now one member bigger. The creature will act like your child, behave like a child, have the same demands as a human child; they would want to be loved, confronted, cared for, and all that. If your family has a KanaChild, you HAVE to report to the local IEBCRO. We will put cameras and security measures around your house without your consent; this is a force, and we will reward individuals who cooperate well in this process. We would also contact you or the owner of the place to check on the creature's behaviour. DO NOT let the creature go outside; other people will most likely look or act weird towards the creature, which will hurt its feelings, and it will take it out on you as its parents. If the creature keeps insisting on going outside, make any excuses in your power to keep it inside, or just let it go outside for a short amount of time, discipline it without upsetting it if you can.
Through time, as long as you keep acting like the monster parents perfectly, it will slowly and surely lose its humanoid features and start to grow eyes, a nose, and other parts to look like a normal human child. After 5 or 6 years of living with the KanaChild, you’ll end up with a monster family member that looks identical to a normal child, talks in a perfect human tone, and acts perfectly normal. They would use their power way less and become undetectable, blending into human society. The only clue to tell whether a kid is a KanaChild or not is to look at how they age, since these creatures don’t get old. This form of the creature is also the main reason why IEBCRO has to keep track of them 24/7, make sure we don’t lose track of who's a real child and who’s the monster. In this human-like form, they’re called the Mocker KanaChild.
